It is love that founded Mermaid Pictures and Printing. Our founder, Martin, vacationed in Turks and Caicos Islands in the late 1990s and immediately fell in love with the area. He was in awe of the vibrant colors, the soft beaches, and the smooth trade winds of Turks and Caicos Islands. At the first opportunity he had, he moved to the area to make it his home.
Martin was born in Bogota, Columbia and was raised in both the US and Germany. He received formal photography training in Los Angeles, where he later opened his own studio, PenguinOne Studios in 2001. For 10 years, he worked predominately in the music and fashion industry, creating captivating images for both print and web publications.
After an exciting photography career in LA, he set his sights on spending his time capturing the beauty and love so abundant in Turks and Caicos. From sweeping romances to destination weddings, to beach family photos, Martin found so much magic on the island. He currently captures breathtaking images between Turks and Caicos and Miami, Florida.
